Shruti Haasan has a Bollywood film lined up titled Behen Hogi Teri, releasing on June 9, 2017 which also features Rajkummar Rao. Shruti will now commence work on her father, Kamal Haasan‘s directorial venture Sabaash Naidu. The shooting of the film is delayed currently because of an injury to Kamal Haasan.

Shruti Haasan was part of Tamil period film Sangamithra but opted out of the film because of not having received a bound script. The makers of the film, Sri Thenandal Films, made the announcement on their social networking page that Shruti would not be part of Sangamithra any longer. The actress clarified later that she never received a bound script for the film despite training hard and being ready for the role of the warrior princess.

The official statement from the spokesperson of Shruti Haasan read – “She hired and started training with one of the best combat trainers April onwards to make sure she was ready in time for shoot. Despite her enthusiasm and commitment to Sangamithra, she has had to give the film a miss since she had not received a proper bound script nor a proper date calendar.

However, Shruti still wants Sangamithra to do well. During the recent promotions of Behen Hogi Teri, the actress had said ,”It is a project that I am no longer a part of so, I wouldn’t like to elaborate on it further. I like to have a firm and clear idea of a script and a character – that’s how I work. And if that doesn’t happen, then I move on to the next things. But, I wish the team all the very best. I am sure it is going to be fantastic.”
