Following political plunge, Rajinikanth drops the word ‘superstar’ from his Twitter handle

A few days ago, veteran actor Rajinikanth made his first speech since entering politics and spoke about how he plans to bring back MGR-style governance to Tamil Nadu. In doing so, he made it clear that he is serious about his political career and wants to establish a firm connect with the common man. Now, ‘Thalaiva’ has removed the word ‘superstar’ from his twitter handle and indicated that he is a common man just like his fans/followers. It goes without saying this may serve as some kind of indication that he could follow a people centric approach, once his political career gets underway fully.

Interestingly, Rajini had joined Twitter in 2014 and managed to get over 20,000 followers even before sending out his first tweet. However, over he years, he has not been all that active on the social media platform.

In case you did not know, on the final day of 2017, he had announced his entry into the world of politic s and added a new dimension to his career. While making the announcement, he had said that he would indulge in ‘spiritual politics’ and try to change the system.

“ Before the state election, we will discuss what we can do, and what we cannot do. If we don’t do what we promise, We will resign within 3 years. We will be running spiritual politics. In the past one year, Tamil Nadu politics has come down to a miserable state. People from the other states are frowning upon us. Even after all this, If I am going to stay quiet, my conscience will prick me to the day I die. This is the state and you are the people who are the reason I am living today,” he had added.

On the work front, he currently has 2.0 and the crime-drama Kaala in his kitty.
