Actor Gautham Karthik recently found himself in the midst of an ugly controversy when it was reported that he had said Tamil star Rajinikanth should stick to films and refrain from entering politics.
Now, the young actor has issued a clarification on the matter. He posted a video message on Twitter and said that his words have been misinterpreted. He went on to add that all he meant to say was that, for him, Rajinikanth will always be a superstar.
“The question raised to me was if I would support Rajini sir if he enters politics. My answer to that was, I don’t know anything about politics, and to me, Rajini sir is a superstar and I will see him as a superstar only. That is all I said, but it went out of context and people have written something wrong. So please don’t bring me into politics, I have no relation to politics whatsoever, I am here to make films and I love to watch films and I love watching the superstar in films, this is it,” he added.
Well, that is quite a sincere explanation and we hope that the matter gets resolved ASAP.
On a related note, this is a rather busy time for Thalaivaa. He is currently shooting for ‘Kaala’. The film is a crime-drama and features him in the role of a gangster. Directed by Pa Ranjith, it also features Huma Qureshi in the lead.
In addition to ‘Kaala’, Rajini also has ‘2.0’ in his kitty. It is a sequel to the 2010 release ‘Enthiran’ and will hit screens in 2018.
