Here’s what Rahul Gandhi and Kaala director Pa. Ranjith discussed at their recent meet in Delhi

Congress President Rahul Gandhi recently met Kaala director Pa. Ranjith in Delhi and the two bonded over films and political ideologies. Kalaiyarasan who acted in Ranjith’s Kabali and Madras was also present during the meet. Rahul Gandhi also took to social media to share a couple of pictures from his meet and greet with the director.

“I met film director P A Ranjith the man behind blockbuster films like Madras, Kabali and Kaala and actor Kalaiyarasan, in Delhi yesterday. We talked about politics, films, and society. I enjoyed the interaction and look forward to continuing our dialogue,” tweeted Congress President Rahul Gandhi.

Even the director took to Twitter and shared his thoughts on meeting Rahul Gandhi

Talking about Pa Ranjith’s recently released film Kaala starring Rajinikanth; the film received amazing response all over the globe. Kaala also stars Eswari Rao, Samuthirakani, Huma Qureshi, Sampath Raj, Sayaji Shinde, Anjali Patil, Manikandan, Dileepan, Pankaj Tripathi, Ravi Kale, Ramesh Thilak, Arul Doss, Aravind Akash, Sakshi Agarwal, Arundhati, Suganya and Nithish. Marathi and Bollywood actor Anjali Patil too would be seen playing a pivotal role in Kaala.

Kaala is a documented story of a don living in the slums of Dharavi. He will play a slum lord turned gangster in the film and is reportedly based on the life of Haji Mastan. The film will also have political overtones.

Besides Tamil, Kaala has released in Telugu and Hindi as well and all the three versions have been receiving a good response.

Meanwhile, Pa Ranjith is yet to announce his next project. He is currently bankrolling the film Pariyerum Perumal, which is directed by his assistant Mari Selvaraj.
