Siddharth just took to Twitter and revealed that House Next Door—which is the Hindi version of Aval— will be screened at the Taipei Golden Horse Fantastic Film Festival in Taiwan this April. He added that he is proud to be representing Hindi cinema internationally.
“#TheHouseNextDoor is selected for the Taipei Golden Horse Fantastic Film Festival in Taiwan in April. Our HINDI film will represent HINDI cinema at the festival. Excited and looking forward! @Milind_Rau @andrea_jeremiah @atul_kulkarni @anishavictor @ggirishh,” he added.
This is good news indeed and we hope that the film mesmerises audiences internationally as well. In case you did not know, Aval is a horror-drama and also features Andrea in the lead. Upon release, it was praised for its riveting plot and genuinely scary presentation. While talking about it, Siddharth had told a website that a lot of research was done before beginning Aval.
“I am a huge fan of horror movies and has always felt iconic horror films are fewer in Indian cinema. This was the reason myself and Milind Rau decided to make ‘Aval’. Myself and Milind Rau are very good friends for ages, from the time we worked as assistant directors with Mani Ratnam sir. Though ‘Aval’ is based on a real-life incident, we also did an extensive research about this script, genre and audience’s mindset about horror,” he had added.
After its successful release, he had confirmed that a sequel will be made.
“ The genre and story are such that there can be a lot more to it. And that’s why, from the start we knew we wanted to make a sequel. A part two of this film will definitely happen! And Andrea Jeremiah will be a part of the sequel too,” he had told a leading daily.
At present, Sid is gearing up to make his Mollywood debut with Kammara Sambhavam.
