Idhayane: Here is the latest lyric video from Sivakarthikeyan-Nayanthara starrer Velaikkaran

The elegant Nayanthara is arguably one of the most popular names in Southern cinema today. And, not surprisingly, she is going through a wonderful phase on the professional front right now. Last month, her ‘Aramm’ opened to a good response at the box office and received rave reviews along the way. Directed by debutant Gopi Nainar, it saw K-town’s ‘Lady Superstar’ essay the role of a dynamic collector and leave fans spellbound. Revolving around the water scarcity problem, it received praise from fans as well as those in the industry. Praising the social drama, superstar Sivakarthikeyan had said that it does a terrific job of raising an important issue  and engages the audience quite well.

With ‘Aramm’ in the rearview mirror, Nayan is currently gearing up for the release of ‘Velaikkaran’, The film is touted to be an action-thriller and has already created quite a buzz amongst fans thanks to its gripping posters/trailer. Now, it seems that the curiosity surrounding the film is set to receive a shot in the arm. In an exciting development, the lyric video of the ‘Idhayane’ track has been released. And, it does a good job of making the wait for the film even more difficult.

The song has been composed by the young rockstar Anirudh Ravichander who has also lent his voice to the number. The female vocals have been provided by Neeti Mohan. We are sure that ‘Idhayne’ will be a major highlight of ‘Velaikkaran’.

In case you did not know, ‘Velaikkaran’ has been directed by Mohan Raja and is set to hit screens on December 22. Besides SK-Nayanthara, it also features Fahadh Faasil in the lead. The Mollywood star will be playing a negative role in what is the first Kollywood film of his career. Sometime ago, the director had said that he chose him as he is someone who can motivate him to do a better job.

“After Thani Oruvan, I wanted to evolve as a better director and for that, I believed I had to come up with an even superior antagonist. So, instead of creating the character and casting the actor, I wanted to rope in an actor who would inspire me to create such an antagonist. With Fahadh on board, I knew I had the best and my challenge was to give him a role that would feed off of his thirst as a performer. It motivated me to create something great and after watching the output, I believe I am on the right track. I have always believed that an actor’s job is not just between action and cut if he has to constantly do better. It starts with the lifestyle you live, how you perceive your life and how you treat the others around you. Fahadh reinforced my beliefs in that regard,” he had told a leading daily.

Interestingly, the audio launch of ‘Velaikkaran’ was held a few days ago abd it proved to be a spectacle. The event, SK had praised Nayan and said that her disciplined way of working has helped her become a star.

“It is a happy moment to act with Nayanthara. I first saw her at the shooting spot of Aegan. Myself and Arunraja were supposed to come in brief roles in the film, and at that time, we saw her. Then, it was Ethir Neechal, where she made an appearance for a song. After that, only at the shooting spot of Velaikkaran, I saw her. The one thing that hasn’t changed at all in all these three film shooting spots, is her punctuality and perfection. That is why, I feel, that she has established a market for herself,” he had added.

On a related note, this is a busy time for Sivakarthikeyan and ‘Thalaivi’. Besides ‘Velaikkaran’, Nayan has ‘Jai Simha’ and the highly ambitious ‘Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy’ in her. While ‘Jai Simha’ is an action-drama, ‘Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy’ is a period drama. Ob the other hand, SK also has a film with Samantha Akkineni in his kitty.
