Actor, director and producer Prakash Raj recently attended an event and spoke about couple of things which included the killing of journalist Gauri Lankesh and vented his anger about the whole issue. The actor had also said that he is shocked at the silence of the Prime Minister. His statements had become national news and the interpretation seemed to have gone way too far ahead from what he actually he had said. Clarifying all this, Prakash Raj took to social media and clarified about what he spoke and why he feels so.
“I would like to own up to certain things. I was on a stage where I was addressing a group of youngsters and when there is a discussion about recent killings of Gauri Lankesh or Kalburgi or these sort of killings, and my reaction was that we don’t know who has killed them because there is a police department, there is an SIT which is looking into it. But we can see whose celebrating. And I am pained. I am taken aback by celebrations of an inhuman killing and for the very fact that I have vented out my pain, my anguish towards those people who are celebrating. I have been trolled, I have been used bad words. Ok it’s all in the game, I take it,” said Prakash Raj in the video posted on social media.
Prakash Raj is one of the few actors who is vocal about the issues in the society and doesn’t step back from speaking his mind out about them. And he has often found support from his colleagues and friends in the industry.
