Actor-turned-Politician R Sarath Kumar has been participating in the campaigning of his party for the upcoming polls in R K Nagar, which was held by late Jayalalitha. The vociferous actor is an ardent supporter of TTV Dinakaran who is the nephew of the jailed Sasikala. In a major setback to his political aspirations, Income Tax department conducted a raid on party members of AIADMK including the health minister C Vijayabhaskar and actor R Sarath Kumar.
According to reports, a total of 32 locations were raided in Chennai including Sarath Kumar’s residence. Sources say that the raids started at 6 AM with a team of 100 officials tracing into all the 32 locations. The officials also searched for properties belonging to C Vijayabhaskar in Pudukottai and Trichy. Sources present while the raids were being conducted after someone complained to the EC that the politicos were distributing cash for the upcoming elections. A video also went viral on social media which shows a man distributing cash and asking them to vote for the Sasikala led party.
With all forces against R Sarath Kumar and he not being in good terms with the newly elected TFPC President Vishal, one can only wonder what is going to be his future course of action. On the acting front, Sarath Kumar is currently working on Adangathey which is being shot at a brisk pace. He was last seen on silver screen in a Telugu movie, Nenorakam, alongside Puri Jagannadh’s brother Sairam Shankar. The film fared average at the box office.
