Bollywood actress Tanushree Dutta’s accusations of sexual harassment against veteran actor Nana Patekar, which had happened some 8 years ago, took India by storm. The #MeToo India movement has left everyone in shock with revelations being made by women across the media and entertainment industry. From Nana Patekar to Rajat Kapoor, Vikas Bahl, writer Chetan Bhagat, many others have been accused of sexual harassment. And another shocking revelation comes from the Southern film industry. An anonymous singer has accused renowned poet and lyricist Vairamuthu of sexually harassing her some years ago.
The horrifying experience has been shared through her friend and another singer Chinmayi Sripada. The details of the conversation between the singer and Vairamuthu have been put out on twitter. The anonymous singer also mentions that how everyone in the industry was aware of Vairamuthu’s behaviour towards women but nobody dared to speak against him due to his connection with politics. Meanwhile, in the latest news, writer and producer of the popular Hindi TV serial of the 90’s, Tara has spoken out against the sexual misconduct of the lead actor of the show. Another shocking revelation has come out by the writer Vinta Nanda. She recounted the horror in a Facebook post. She also shared that how the lead actor was alcoholic and messed around with the female lead of the show. Vinta Nanda also accused him of touching the lead actress inappropriately. The writer of the show alleges that she was raped while returning home from his party. Vinta does not name anyone in the post but writes “the predator in question here is the actor par excellence who is known as the most Sanskaari person in the film and television industry”.
