Actor Vishal will next be seen in action film Irumbu Thirai which is directed by PS Mithran. Irumbu Thirai also stars actor Arjun Sarja as the antagonist while Samantha Akkineni will be pairing up for the first time with Vishal. In an interesting move, Vishal held a special screening of Irumbu Thirai for media contingent in Chennai today however the screening was only the first half of the film. With an intent to give a taste of the film, Vishal may have opted for this move which is something never done before in Tamil cinema. Post the screening, director PS Mithran spoke with the media and said, “Vishal sir wanted to attempt such thing in his erstwhile movies and we are happy that it has happened with IRUMBU THIRAI. Especially with the screenplay of intermission getting gripping, we felt that things would be very well received.” The entire media and press were at the first half screening of Irumbu Thirai and the appreciations have been much great. This is the first ever time such an attempt is made in Indian Film Industry. According to reports, the intermission sequence has left everyone awestruck and quite excited to know what’s going to happen next.

The film was earlier slated to be released in March this year but had to be deferred owing to the strike. Irumbu Thirai is being produced by Vishal himself under his home banner Vishal Film Factory. A while ago, director PS Mithran had said that he approached Vishal to play the lead role but the actor-producer wanted to play the antagonist after the script narration session. “Vishal wanted to do the villain role in Irumbu Thirai when I pitched the subject to him to produce it under his banner. He was so impressed with the plot that he not only agreed to bankroll it, but also opted to do the powerful baddie character,” Mithran had said recently.
