During a recent interaction with a leading daily, actor Jayam Ravi opened up about his film ‘Vanamagan’ and revealed how he managed to get into the skin of his character. On the topic, he said that he interacted with tribal communities in the Andamans and tried to understand tribal culture to the fullest.
“I have shed so many kilos and toned down my body. I watched several documentaries on tribals and interacted with some of the civilised tribal communities in Andamans. I loved their innocence and their natural way of living and tried to bring in the same,” he added.
Moreover, he revealed that, even before taking him on board, director AL Vijay clearly told him that shooting for the film would be a challenging experience.
“Vijay warned me that it is going to be really tough even before narrating the script. I loved the one-liner and didn’t realise that it would be physically and mentally taxing till I landed in the dense forests of Thailand and Vietnam,” he added.
In case you did not know, ‘Vanamagan’ is touted to be an action film and will hit screens tomorrow. Besides Jayam Ravi, it features Sayyeshaa in the lead. It is the first Tamil film of her career. She made her big screen debut with Akhil which flopped at the BO. Thereafter, the lovely lady entered Bollywood with ‘Shivaay’ which hit screens last year. We hope, her maiden Tamil film fares well at the box office.
