Kaala box office day 3: Rajinikanth starrer crosses Rs 100 crore mark worldwide

Rajinikanth’s much awaited Kaala releases amidst galore of celebrations by fans

Rajinikanth’s Kaala, which released worldwide on June 7, is receiving immense appreciation from all the corners. The film is not only received thumbs up but is also unstoppable at the Box Office since day one. With good word of mouth and positive feedback, Kaala is having a good run at the box office in India and overseas as well. The gangster drama has earned a total of about Rs 4.9 crore in Chennai itself.

On the first day, including premiere shows, saw Kaala earned approx $450,000 at the US box office. And on the second day, the numbers hit the sky. Kaala earned $1 million (Rs 6.83 crore) at the US box office in just 2 days of release, which is phenomenal.

Now, according to trade analyst Ramesh Bala, the film has touched Rs 100-crore mark worldwide. Kaala is performing amazingly in the overseas market has become the second biggest opener in Australia, after Padmaavat.

Directed by Pa Ranjith, Kaala also stars Eswari Rao, Samuthirakani, Huma Qureshi, Sampath Raj, Sayaji Shinde, Anjali Patil, Manikandan, Dileepan, Pankaj Tripathi, Ravi Kale, Ramesh Thilak, Arul Doss, Aravind Akash, Sakshi Agarwal, Arundhati, Suganya and Nithish. Marathi and Bollywood actor Anjali Patil too would be seen playing a pivotal role in Kaala.

Kaala is said to be a documented story of a don living in the slums of Dharavi. He will play a slum lord turned gangster in the film and is reportedly based on the life of Haji Mastan. The film will also have political overtones.

Meanwhile, Kaala has been facing opposition in Tamil Nadu and Karnataka. However, fans of Rajinikanth celebrated the release of “Kaala” in Tamil Nadu on Thursday. In Karnataka, the film’s release was opposed by some organisations after the southern superstar said the Cauvery Management Board (CMB) on the sharing of the Cauvery river water between Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Kerala and Puducherry, has to be set up.

Besides Tamil, Kaala has released in Telugu and Hindi as well and all the three versions have been receiving a good response.
