Kaala Box Office: Rajinikanth starrer crosses Rs 150 crore mark in 3 weeks

Pa Ranjith film Kaala starring, Rajinikanth is running successfully all over and is minting good numbers at the Box Office even after three weeks of its release. The film also starring Nana Patekar, Huma Qureshi, and Pankaj Tripathi is unstoppable and has crossed Rs 150 crore mark in three weeks at the Box Office. The gangster drama has done a total theatrical business of Rs 159.56 Cr in 22 days. As we all know, its superstar Rajinikanth, the brand, to pull off such huge numbers at the Box Office.

In the UK, the film has earned only £211,089 (Rs 1.9 Cr), which is quite an average performance for the Superstar considering the huge fan following he has there. In the UAE, the film has earned AED 3,403,631 (Rs 6.34 Cr) in 14 days.

In Malaysia, Kaala has earned in a total revenue of MYR 7.2 million (Rs 12.32 Cr) and has become the seventh Tamil film to cross the MYR 7 million mark in the country, according to a report in Firstpost.
Talking about the film’s collection back home, the film holds the firm at the ticket window The film has done a total of Rs 11.38 Cr in 22 days in Chennai. Kaala hit controversy in some regions and despite that, it passed the Rs 100 Cr mark worldwide in just four days of release.

Directed by Pa Ranjith, Kaala also stars Eswari Rao, Samuthirakani, Huma Qureshi, Sampath Raj, Sayaji Shinde, Anjali Patil, Manikandan, Dileepan, Pankaj Tripathi, Ravi Kale, Ramesh Thilak, Arul Doss, Aravind Akash, Sakshi Agarwal, Arundhati, Suganya and Nithish. Marathi and Bollywood actor Anjali Patil too would be seen playing a pivotal role in Kaala.

Kaala is said to be a documented story of a don living in the slums of Dharavi. He will play a slum lord turned gangster in the film and is reportedly based on the life of Haji Mastan. The film will also have political overtones.

Besides Tamil, Kaala has released in Telugu and Hindi as well and all the three versions have been receiving a good response.
