During a recent interaction with a leading news agency, actress Kajol opened up about her upcoming film ‘VIP 2’ and stressed that her character had been written keeping a woman in mind. In other words, she rubbished reports of Tamil superstar Rajinikanth being the original choice for the role.
“Vasundhara Parameshwar was always a female character. It was always written with a woman in mind,” she added.
Moreover, the actress spoke about ‘Baahubali’ and said that the phenomenal success attained by SS Rajamouli’s magnum opus proves that Indian cinema has grown a lot over the years.
“Today we have given a Baahubali which has crossed everybody’s imagination and enthralled people from all over the world. Change is essential to growth, and we have developed as an industry,” she added.
Interestingly, ‘VIP 2’ marks Kajol’s return to Tamil cinema after a gap of nearly two decades. She was last seen in the 1997 release ‘Minsara Kanavu’. A musical drama, it also featured Arvind Swami in the lead and created a buzz amongst fans thanks to its lifting tunes.
In case you did not know, ‘VIP 2’ is touted to be an action-comedy and features Dhanush in the titular role. It is a sequel to the 2014 release ‘VIP’ and has been directed by Soundarya Rajinikanth. Besides Kajol-Dhanush, it also features Amala Paul in the lead. The lovely lady was a part of the first instalment as well.
