As we all know, Kamal Haasan is one of the most respected and celebrated stars in the Tamil film industry today. During his long and illustrious career, this veteran has mesmerized audiences with his gripping performances stylish personality and remarkable range as a performer. Moreover, he has become a source of inspiration for many thanks to his outspoken nature and well-formed opinions.
Now, Haasan is in the limelight again. According to a leading website, the actor-filmmaker will be attending the unveiling of the K Balachander’s statue on 9 July, 2017. Besides him, names such as Pyramid Natarajan, Mani Ratnam and filmmaker Vasanth too will be attending this event.
In case you did not know, the late K Balachander was Haasan’s mentor. The two worked together on several occasions. Their most significant collaborations include ‘Apoorva Ragangal’, ‘Avargal’ and ‘Mano Charitra’. In fact, ‘KB sir’ was the one who introduced Haasan to Hindi.
The ‘Ulaga Nayagan’ made his Bollywood debut with his mentor’s 1981 release ‘Ek Dujje Ke Liye’. A remake of ‘Mano Charitra’ , it also featured Rati Agnihotri in the lead and fared at the box office, It is indeed nice to see Haasan honour his late mentor by gracing the occasion.
On a related note, the 62-year-old is currently working on ‘Vishwaroopam 2’. It is a spy thriller and will hit screens later this year. In addition to this, he has the spy-comedy ‘Saabash Naidu’ in his kitty. It also features his daughter Shruti Haasan and Ramya Krishnan in the lead.
