Tamil cinema’s most celebrated actor Kamal Haasan will next be seen in Viswaroopam 2, sequel to the 2013 release ‘Viswaroopam’. Viswaroopam 2 was in the back burner for a while because of production issues till lead actor Kamal Haasan took over the production of the film. Kamal Hasan is currently busy with the post-production works of Viswaroopam 2 and the actor-producer is getting all the final works done in the US. Kamal posted a picture on his Twitter page today confirming the development. Kamal also seemed to have gotten a bit emotional mentioning his brother, Chandra Hasan’s name which had his name mentioned as the producer in the picture. Kamal Haasan wrote – “VR 2 looking great sounding great. Thanks to all techies who are making it possible. (From L to R) In picture Marty, I,  Kunal and Chris. The screen has my late brother’s name as the producer. Would have sent him this pic. first had he been around.”

The film is directed by Kamal Haasan himself, besides playing the lead actor and producing it. Viswaroopam 2 has the same star cast as the first part except two new actors – Waheeda Rahman and Anant Mahadevan. The music of the film is composed by Ghibran, who had rendered for the first part as well. Kamal had revealed the first look poster of the film more than a month ago which has created a huge buzz around the film. It was expected that Kamal Haasan would release the trailer of Viswaroopam 2 on his birthday, November 7th, however, fans of the versatile actor were disappointed when nothing was released. he film is also being produced by Ekta Kapoor and Shobha Kapoor in Hindi as Vishwaroop 2. Initially planned as a late 2013 release, the film was stuck in development hell and was revived only in April 2017 as Kamal Haasan himself took over as producer.

Besides working on his films, Kamal Haasan had recently announced that he would be entering politics soon and will be floating his party soon. On his birthday, Kamal Haasan even announced that he has launched an app which will help his understand the situation in the state of Tamil Nadu. Kamal Haasan even had said that he would need support and funds from the people of Tamil Nadu to form his party which had started soon after he announced. Kamal Haasan, later, said that he cannot hold on to the funds since the party hasn’t been formed yet and would return the money to the people who had contributed.

“I am returning the cash people have been sending. It is illegal to keep the money without any infrastructure. The party has to be formed first and we should name the party before collecting funds from the people. This does not mean that I am backtracking. This doesn’t mean I won’t accept money. We need to build a strong foundation so that the movement functions well even after me. It is not a move towards any seat. My wish is that Tamil Nadu should develop first,” Kamal Haasan had said.

Speaking on his birthday about his political plunge, Kamal had said,”It is not an immediate concern to announce the party’s name or when we will contest elections. You will have to give me time to come out with my political agenda as I am still working on the structural part of the whole thing. First, we have to get ready, and become qualified. So, we are looking at the longer goal and that’s why we are taking time. I take six months to even prepare for a film. I’m trying to take time and learn what is needed. That is why I will tour the state. I want to talk to people before deciding my party’s name. It is not a marketable product, but people’s will. I want them to be partners in this initiative. I will have to finish my films first. They are business commitments. I will finish all of them.”
