During a recent interaction with students, veteran actor-turned-politician Kamal Haasan urged the younger generation to realise that each and every individual can bring about a positive change through his or her actions. He also added that one can lead a clean life by doing simple things like paying his taxes on time.
“Change starts with us and it is important that we as individuals be the change. I follow this principle myself and ensure that I pay my taxes correctly,” he added.
Haasan added that he does not believe in handing out freebies as his main priority is to create jobs. Answering a question about his political gameplan, he said that he was happy about how several youngsters had turned up to hear him speak.
“ All of you having come here and taking the stage to speak has given me a lot of hope,” he added.
In case you did not know, Haasan launched his political party Makkal Needhi Maiam a few days ago and added a new dimension to his career. Prior to his entry, he had made several strong remarks on a host of issues—right from demonetisation to corruption in the government machinery—and ruffled a few feathers.
Interestingly, while announcing his political tour, Haasan had said that he would try to understand the needs of the people and try to fulfil them.
“I intend to embark on a journey across the state from February 21, 2018, to truly understand as to what the needs of my people are? what is afflicting them? what their aspirations are? Further, this momentous journey of meeting people across Tamil Nadu is neither an act of rebellion nor is it a gathering for glamour,” he had said.
On the work front, Haasan currently has the spy-thriller Vishwaroopam 2 and Indian 2 in his kitty.
