Veteran actor Kamal Haasan recently asked his fan groups to refrain from distributing Nilavembu Kashayam, which is the state-prescribed medicine for Dengue and found himself in the midst of a controversy. As it so happens, his comments did not go down well with the ruling state government and they lashed out at him for opposing their steps for curbing dengue. Now, Haasan has issued a clarification on the matter and said that he had sent out that tweet as he did not want enthusiastic supporters to give out improper dosages of the medicine. He went on to add that the medicine should only be distributed by trained individuals.
“Misconstruing my request for our NGOs to not distribute Nilavembu Kashayam, some people spreading false news of me opposing it is not fair by any means. I tweeted to warn the over enthusiasts to prevent them from giving an improper dosage of the controversial medicine. I did not wish my organizers distributing medicines without a physician’s guidance or direction. The arrangement made by the government is with the help of medicinal practitioners. I am only criticizing the improper distribution of medicine to everyone without this arrangement or the guidance. I am a person who is welcoming to anything that helps the people, no matter who does it. But I have asked my organizers to stop any action based solely on enthusiasm and without the medical guidance. I do not have any differentiation for Siddha and Allopathy,” he added.
Well, that is a strong statement and could go a long way in resolving the issue. On the work front, Haasan currently has ‘Indian 2’, ‘Vishwaroopam 2’ and’ Sabash Naidu’ in his kitty.
