Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan recently confirmed in an interview to a leading tabloid that he will foray into politics soon and will float a party of his own. The actor also hinted that he may start his own political outfit by end of this month and more details are expected to come out soon. Super Star Rajinikanth too has been hinting at entering politics for a long time now and speculations are high that he will too float his own party. Critics and normal movie-goers are expecting a battle between these two matinee idols in a different battle field – politics.

But, much to the joy of Tamil people, Kamal Haasan has now said that he is ready to join hands with Rajinikanth if he wishes to join politics. Speaking at an event about his political plans, Kamal said he is more than happy to join Rajinikanth in his political travel and work together to make the state a better place.

In a recent interview to The Quint, Kamal clearly stated that he is entering politics out of compulsion and not out of choice. “Yes I am thinking on those lines — not out of choice, but due to compulsion! Which existing political party can provide me with a platform or an ideology that will match my reformatory goals in politics?” Kamal had said in the interview.

Kamal Haasan has been vocal, lately, with his views about the state of politics in Tamil Nadu and has received support from many political leaders as well. Speaking on why he won’t join any existing political party, Kamal says, “I just have to be photographed with any politician and I am supposed to be joining his party. The other day, I met Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and I was supposed to have developed a penchant for communism. But, becoming a part of any political party is not a simple process of hopping, skipping and jumping in. A political party is about an ideology. And I don’t think my goals in politics can match the ideology of any party.”
