In his latest column for a leading Tamil magazine, actor-director Kamal Haasan asked his fans to be ready for a major announcement from him on November 7 which happens to be his birthday. And, as expected, this lead to speculation of him launching his political party on his special day. Now, Haasan has broken his silence on the matter. Earlier today, he took to Facebook and put these rumours rest. The National award winner said that he will not be launching his party on his birthday. He went on to add that he will just be meeting his fans of 7 November. The veteran also stressed that when he decides to launch his party, he will make the announcement on a proper platform.
“We cannot announce the party due to the demand of media. Our movement people meet usually for many years on November.7. Public announcement will take place only in people’s gathering,” he added.
In case you did not know, Haasan has been in the limelight these days thanks to his impending entry into politics. In fact, sometime ago, the ‘Vishwaroopam’ star had said that he would ultimately launch his own party and add a new dimension to his career.
“Yes I am thinking on those lines — not out of choice, but due to compulsion! Which existing political party can provide me with a platform or an ideology that will match my reformatory goals in politics?” he had added.
