Actor, director and producer Kamal Haasan is a proud father looking at the way both his daughters have fared in their careers so far. Shruti Haasan is an established actress across multiple film industries in India while Akshara Haasan is gradually getting a foothold in her career. Making her debut with Vivegam in Tamil, Akshara Haasan will be seen playing an NRI and most of her dialogues are said to be in English.
Speaking to a leading daily about it, Akshara Haasan says, “I play a pivotal role in Vivegam. I play a girl who is born and brought up abroad. My character’s plot runs parallel to Ajith sir’s character. I’d say my character helps take the film forward.” Alike her sister Shruti Haasan, who made her debut in Bollywood and gradually shifted her focus towards South Indian cinema, Akshara Haasan too seems to be in the same path.
Father Kamal Haasan seems to be a very happy man looking at his daughters getting a firm ground in their career. “They are self made young ladies and I am very proud of them. I haven’t seen Akshara in Vivegam as yet. But whatever she has done I am looking forward to enjoying,” Kamal Haasan recently said in an interview. Kamal Haasan will appear on onscreen with his elder daughter Shruti Haasan in his upcoming directorial venture – Sabaash Naidu – which will be a spy-comedy. Written, directed and produced by Kamal Haasan himself, Sabaash Naidu will have the actor play the titular role.
