Kamal Haasan’s much-awaited film; Vishwaroopam 2 has finally hit the screens. It is a sequel to Kamal Haasan’s controversial superhit Vishwaroopam (2013), which was banned in Tamil Nadu by then Chief Minister Jayalalithaa. Well, the second part of the action-spy thriller written, directed and co-produced by Kamal Haasan, finally has made it to theatres and is receiving a mixed response from the audience on social media.

The first part of the film was quite in the controversy but still managed to do good business at the Box Office. The prequel of Vishwaroopam 2 was banned following protests by Muslim groups. The ban was later lifted. Ahead of film’s release, in an exclusive chat with Pinkvilla, Kamal Haasan revealed that how he had decided to make the second part of the film even before the release of the first part. Kamal also added saying that he did not wait for any criticisms or the censor before giving a thought to make the second part.

He said, “We did not make this film on second thoughts. We did not wait for the criticism or even for the censor. We wrote the film in whole two parts and decided to make on day 3. I announced it to my crew that I have taken the step and asked for their help in going forward.”

He further added, “It was not like I wanted to make two films with one cast. Everybody was paid twice. We made the decision much before all the controversies started. So, the cast, crew and everything was ready and we were shooting for Vishwaroop 2 even before the release of Vishwaroop one.”
