Kamal Haasan’s reaction on Karnataka elections

The results of Karnataka elections took the country by storm. Moreover, BS Yeddyurappa resigned as Karnataka chief minister before facing a crucial trust vote in the assembly on Saturday left everyone in a shock. He has submitted his resignation to the Governor of Karnataka Vajubhai Vala. Opposition party Congress had also made some allegations on him. Amid all these, Makkal Needhi Maiam president Kamal Haasan took to his micro-blogging page to share his opinion on the news.

He posted, “Welcome to Democracy Sir. I am proud to congratulate the legitimate Chief Minister of Karnataka. Glad I waited.” He also stated in his tweet, “Long Live Democracy.” According to the latest media reports, JD (S)‘ s HD Kumaraswamy will be taking an oath as Chief Minister.

On the work front, Kamal Haasan’s highly anticipated Tamil spy thriller Vishwaroopam 2 is a film that audience are eagerly waiting to look forward to the end of long 48 days Tamil Cinema strike. The shooting of the film went on floors in November last year and now, the film is all set to release this summer.

The first film centred around Wisam and his team closing in around Al Qaeda’s sleeper. The sequel will follow the story of an Indian spy, played by Haasan himself. The second part is expected to be intense and action filled.

Vishwaroopam 2 is a spy-thriller and is a sequel to the 2013 release Vishwaroopam. The film also stars Andrea Jeremiah, Pooja Kumar and Shekhar Kapoor, the film has music by Ghibran. The long-delayed Vishwaroopam 2 is expected to release this June or July.

Besides Vishwaroopam 2, Kamal Haasan also has Sabash Naidu and Indian 2 in his kitty. Sabash Naidu is a spy-comedy and also features his daughter Shruti Haasan in the lead. As far as Indian 2 is concerned, it is a sequel to 1996 classic Indian and is being directed by maverick filmmaker S Shankar.
