Kamal Haasan’s Vishwaroopam 2 competes censor formalities, set to release this summer

Kamal Haasan is arguably one of the biggest names in Tamil cinema today. And, now, there is some good news for his well-wishers. According to the latest reports, his eagerly-awaited Vishwaroopam 2 has cleared censor formalities and been passed with U/A certificate. As such, it is on track to hit screens this summer. The film is a sequel to the 2013 release Vishwaroopam and will highlight the important issue of terrorism. In it, Haasan will be seen alongside actors Andrea Jeremiah and Pooja Kumar. Veteran Bollywood actor Waheeda Rehman too will be seen essaying a key role in the film.

Recently, Andrea had said that the Vishwaroopam 2 will be quite an action-packed affair.
“That’s (release date) not something that I can answer; it is Kamal sir’s film. But I recently watched a cut of it and I have to say it is very action-packed and fast-paced. He is getting it ready, but I do not know by when it’s going to release. However, it will hit screens this year for sure,” she had added.

Previously, Haasan had confirmed that all the characters featured in the first part will appear in Vishwaropam 2.

“My producer was multitasking with many films but I have now taken over the responsibility of taking my product to the audience. All the actors are returning, even those who died in the first part. The surprise new addition is Waheeda Rehman ji,” he had told a leading daily.

On a related note, this is a busy time for Haasan. Besides Vishwaroopam 2, he also has Sabash Naidu and Indian 2 in his kitty. Sabash Naidu is a spy-comedy and also features his daughter/noted actor Shruti Haasan in the lead. As far as Indian 2 is concerned, it is a sequel to the 1996 classic Indian and is being directed by ace director S Shankar.
