Filmmaker Karthick Naren had an impressive into films with Dhruvangal 16 which was one of the most acclaimed films in Tamil in 2017. And post Dhruvangal 16, Karthick Naren started his work on Naragasooran which stars Shriya Saran, Arvind Swami, Sundeep Kishan and Indrajith in pivotal roles. Naragasooran is being produced by Gautham Menon under his banner Ondraga Entertainment. However, all seems to be not well between director Karthick Naren and producer Gautham Menon. It all started when Karthick Naren randomly posted a tweet hinting that he had trusted someone blindly and was cheated. It was speculated that Karthick was referring to Gautham Menon, producer of Naragasooran, and the two seem to have fallen out. And the latest activities on Twitter confirm that all is not well between Gautham Menon and Karthick Naren.

Gautham Menon shared a video on his Twitter which was about films, IPL and many other entertaining things and referred to tweet made by Karthick Naren made days ago. Gautham Menon wrote – “While some young  filmmakers whine about their passion getting butchered instead of growing a pair, here’s a young team that makes an interesting short about girls, women, cricket, CSK and liberation. What a http://connect.So  very nicely done!

And reacting to this, Karthick Naren took on and replied – “While everybody advised against it I had the pair to trust you & collaborate sir. In return we were treated like trash & made to invest on our own. I think its better to whine & confront instead of running away. Please don’t do this to any other young filmmaker sir. It hurts!

Speaking about the whole issue, Karthick Naren told Sify in an interview, “When I signed Naragasooran for Gautham Menon sir, everyone asked to reconsider my decision. But I had immense faith and admiration in Gautham sir and we started the shoot. Though Gautham sir’s Ondraga banner is associated with Naragasooran on paper, he hasn’t invested anything into our project. What really hurt me is that he has gone ahead and borrowed money pledging my film (Naragasooran) and invested in his own films —Dhruva Natchathiram and Enai Noki Paayum Thota. The main issue now is that Gautham sir has to settle the remuneration of Arvind Swamy sir and other actors. Though Arvind sir is sweet enough to dub the film for me, I don’t want to take him to be taken for granted.”

While this clearly shows that the two filmmakers have fallen out, the film industry is worried that this ugly spat may impact the film, Naragasooran, which is said to be the second in the trilogy of Dhruvangal 16.
