The lovely Keerthy Suresh is arguably one of the most popular young stars in the Tamil film industry today. And, at present, she has several big films in her kitty. One of them is ‘Thaanaa Serndha Koottam’. In it, she will be acting opposite superstar Suriya for the first time ever in her young career. In a statement issued to the media, Keerthy opened up about working with the actor and said that she is a big fan of his work. She also added that he is rather reserved but highly supportive person.
“I have been an ardent fan of Suriya from my school days. My mother has already acted with his father Sivakumar in three movies. I used to challenge her saying that one would I would pair with his son. I am so happy that my dream has become a reality. Suriya sir is such a reserved person and doesn’t talk much. But when I ask for any suggestions, he comes up with a supportive gesture,” she added.
Talking about the role, she said that she plays an orthodox Brahmin girl in ‘Thaanaa Serndha Koottam’. She also added that her character does not have a name.
“I don’t have a name in Thaana Serndha Koottam. My character involves humour and surprise elements as well. I play the role of an orthodox Brahmin girl. I loved the way Vignesh Shivn narrated the script and my characterization,” added the actress.
Well, this is quite a revelation and is bound to add to the buzz surrounding the film. In case you did not know, ‘Thaanaa Serndha Koottam’ is touted to be a crime-thriller and has been directed by Vignesh Shivn. Its supporting cast features names like Ramya Krishnan and RJ Balaji. Interestingly, initially it was rumoured that TSK would be a clean remake of the Hindi hit ‘Special 26’. However, a source had made it clear that only the core plot of the film is similar to that of the Akshay Kumar starrer.
The core plot of Special 26 has been adapted, and the makers have made a lot of changes in Suriya’s characterisation. He plays a CBI officer in the movie and the present schedule involves a lot of character artistes,” the source had told a leading daily.
On a related note, at present, Keerthy also has the eagerly-awaited ‘Mahanati’ and ‘Agnyaathavaasi’ in her kitty. ‘Mahanati’ is based on the life of yesteryear actress Savitri and is slated to hit screens this March. Talking about it, she had said that it is the most challenging role of her career.
“Mahanati is undoubtedly my most challenging project till date. To essay Savitri ma’am’s role in a biopic demanded a lot of homework. Though I have seen her films, I revisited them thoroughly to observe the way she emotes for different sequences. If I hadn’t done that homework or research, I would not have felt satisfied and confident. We shot for three song segments on the first day, and I had to rehearse for three days to perform it. The director and producer were so supportive and helped in whatever way they could,” she had told a leading website.
As far as ‘Agnyaathavaasi’ is concerned, it is a Trivikram Srinivas directorial and will see her share screen space with Pawan Kalyan. Talking about the ‘Power Star’, she had said that he is a terrific person to work with.
“Pawan Kalyan sir seems very calm but off-screen, he cracks a lot of jokes. Trivikram, Anu and our team used to sit and enjoy his humour. It was like one big family and (the team) was fun to be around. PSPK 25 is a project I really enjoyed working on,” she had added.
