“Fools, that’s my name given to me by my parents…AND YES I AM A KHAN…NOW WHAT?” This tweet was from actress Khushbu earlier today in response to those who trolled her. she asked.Actress and politician Khushboo recently took to Twitter to respond to trolls regarding the religion she follows. It all started when Khushbu, who is the National Spokesperson of the Congress party, been sharing posts that took potshots at the BJP and PM Modi. That’s when trolls decided to tweet to her mentioning her birth name which is Nakhat Khan. The trolls may have done it in an effort to expose her religion. This is not the first time a celebrity has been targetted for the religion they follow. Earlier this year, actor Vijay, whose full name is Joseph Vijay, was targeted by H. Raja, BJP National Secretary, after the party and its supporters took objection to a few scenes in Mersal featured a dialogue criticizing demonetization and GST. H Raja, went on to tweet post a picture of the actor’s voter id which had his full name, in an effort to ‘expose’ that he is a Christian and would not understand Hindu sentiments.
It’s needless to say that the people of Tamil Nadu have known the religion and full names of these actors all along, and this wasn’t news to them. Khushbu made her debut in south Indian cinema with the 1986 Telugu film Kaliyuga Pandavulu and went on to star in more than a hundred films and even had a temple built in her name.
