Back in December 2014, the film industry lost K Balachander, one of the finest directors of the Indian Cinema. Now, popular veteran filmmaker K Balachander’s wife Rajam passed away in Chennai on Monday morning due to age-related ailments. She was 84. Rajam has produced films like Roja, Jathi Malli, Agni Sakshi, and Sindhu Bhairavi. She was not only popular in Tamil film industry but also made her mark in films like Ek Duje Ke Liye, Aaina and Zara Si Zindagi.
According to media reports, the last rites will take place today by noon. Rajam is survived by two sons, Kailasam, Prasanna and a daughter Pushpa Kandaswamy. Rajam married Balachander in 1954. The couple has three children, of which the eldest, Bala Kailasam, passed away aged 54 in 2014.
