Lyricist Uma Devi is currently busy writing lyrics for Tamil superstar Rajinikanth’s eagerly-awaited ‘Kaala’. And, as expected she is quite excited about the same. During a recent interaction with a leading daily, Uma opened up about her rapport with director Ranjith and said that she considers him to be her mentor. She went on to add that fans will love the songs she has written for ‘Kaala’.
‘I am teaming up with my mentor, director Ranjith, for the third time in the Superstar film Kaala. Hope these songs would also be lapped up by Tamil audiences, who are receptive to new ideas,’ she added.
Well, we wish Uma the very best and hope that her songs in ‘Kaala’ manage to create a buzz amongst fans.
In case you did not know, Uma rose to fame when she penned the ‘Naan Nee Naamm Vaazahve’ in Ranjith’s ‘Madaras’. Then she collaborated with him again for ‘Kabali’ and made an impact with her songs. It will be worth watching if her latest collaboration with Ranjith proves to be as successful as the previous ones.
As far as ‘Kaala’ is concerned, it is a crime-drama and features Rajini in the role of a gangster. Being produced by Dhanush, it has already created a buzz amongst fans thanks to Thalaivaa’s raw swag and its gripping posters. Besides Rajinikanth, it also features Huma Qureshi and Nana Patekar in the lead. Patekar will be playing the villain in this one. Kaala will hit screens next year.
