There can be no denying that the eagerly-awaited ‘Vikram Vedha’ has created quite a buzz in the industry thanks to its gripping trailer. Moreover, it has grabbed plenty of eyeballs as it brings together two gifted performers namely R Madhavan and Vijay Sethupathi.
During a recent interaction with a leading news agency, Pushkar—one-half of the Pushkar-Gayathri duo—said that Maddy and Vijay were extremely competitive with each other while shooting for the film. However, the director was quick to add that they got along very well on the sets.
“It’s a myth that two stars can’t work together without having issues. Vijay and Madhavan were competitive, but absolutely had no ego between them. They were so bothered about getting the perfect scene that they didn’t mind outperforming each other,” he added.
He went on to add that ‘Vikram Vedha’ is indeed based on the Vikram-Betaal stories from folklore.
“We have borrowed the structure of the mythological story and have given it a very contemporary twist. The story is simple — about a police officer and a gangster — and audiences have to decide who is good and bad among them,” he said.
In case you did not know, ‘Vikram Vedha’ is touted to be a crime-thriller and will hit screens on July 7, 2017. In it, Madhavan plays the cop while Vijay plays the gangster.
Interestingly, this will be Maddy’s first release of the year. He was last seen in ‘Irudhi Suttru’ which opened to a decent response at the BO, last year.
Meta: Madhavan and Vijay Sethupathi will be seen together in Vikram Vedha.
