Mani Ratnam has gone back to his Nayagan days, says AR Rahman at Chekka Chivantha Vaanam audio launch

At the launch, Rahman was all praises for Mani Ratnam and expressed how the director has been working with some great energy.

The audio launch of Mani Ratnam’s Chekka Chivantha Vaanam took place yesterday in Chennai. The grand audio launch was attended by Arvind Swami, Aditi Rao Hydari, Arun Vijay, Aishwarya Rajesh, Silambarasan, director Mani Ratnam, AR Rahman and among others. Music composer AR Rahman special flew down from his USA concert for Chekka Chivantha Vaanam launch.

AR Rahman won hearts of the audience as soon as he sang two songs from the album have been released so far. At the launch, Rahman was all praises for Mani Ratnam and expressed how the director has been working with some great energy. “He has gone back to his Nayagan days,” said AR Rahman about the director.

While interacting with the media, Mani Ratnam said that Tamizha Tamizha from Bombay is his all-time favourite and memorable composition. Lyricist Vairamuthu picked Uyire from Bombay as the favourite while AR Rahman Kannalane

The film will be dubbed into Telugu as well and is titled Nawab. Rest of the cast includes prominent actors like Prakash Raj, Thyagarajan, Mansoor Ali Khan and Jaya Sudha. The story of the film is penned by Mani Ratnam and Siva Ananth, who co-wrote the film Sachin – A Billion Dreams.
