Mani Ratnam hospitalised after complaining of chest pain

Popular filmmaker Mani Ratnam has been hospitalized to a private hospital after he complained about the chest pain. Reportedly, he has been taken immediately to a private hospital following the chest pain. The legendary director is currently in a stable stage and is being treated by the doctors.

A report in India Today also suggests that close friends including actors and directors are visiting him at the hospital. Sorts of reports also suggest that the director was taken to the hospital only for the regular health check-up. More details and confirmation regarding Mani Ratnam’s health are still awaited.

This is not for the first time that the director has been in the news over his health issues. He was admitted to the hospital in 2004 following chest pain while he was filming Yuva (Hindi version of Aayutha Ezhuthu).

Meanwhile, Mani Ratnam’s upcoming multi-starrer will bring a new face to Tamil cinema, model-turned-actor Dayana Erappa. The director’s Chekka Chivantha Vaanam has a heavy star cast which includes big names like Jyothika, Simbu, Arvind Swami, Vijay Sethupathi, Aditi Rao Hydari and Arvun Vijay. The makers of the film recently wrapped up the shooting of the film. Chekka Chivantha Vaanam is being bankrolled by Madras Talkies. As it is a Mani Ratnam film, this is going to create a huge excitement amongst fans and with top stars of Tamil cinema joining hands, it will be the most watched out for a film in the coming season.

Filmmaker Mani Ratnam is also working on another Tamil film that will star Aditi Rao Hydari. Confirming this development, Aditi had earlier said she couldn’t have hoped for a better start to 2018. “The positive reviews for Padmaavat were totally unexpected since I thought I didn’t have much to do. Now I am again doing a film with Mani Ratnam, just a year after Kaatru Veliyidai.”
