Mani Ratnam is undoubtedly one of the most celebrated and decorated filmmakers in the country, today. During his eventful career, he has won the respect of cine goers thanks to his ability to tell realistic stories in the most gripping way possible. Moreover, he has worked with some of the biggest stars—right from Kamal Haasan to Shah Rukh Khan—and proved that he is a commercially viable name.

Now, Mani is in the news for an awesome reason. According to The Hindu, he is all set to collaborate with noted cinematographer Santosh Sivan yet again. The two have previously collaborated for films such as ‘Dil Se’ and ‘Iruvar’.

Confirming the news, a source close to Mani said that the film be a bilingual.

“Yes, Santhosh Sivan is on board Mani Ratnam sir’s next film. It’s going to be a bilingual but he is yet to finalise his lead actors. The project will roll from September,” added the source.

Interestingly, some time ago, it was rumoured that Mani would soon be working with Telugu star Ram Charan. However, according to the source, he is not a part of this film.

“Although Ram Charan and Ratnam had met and discussed the idea of collaborating, the plan didn’t materialise. He is not part of this project,” added the source.

Well, let’s hope that Mani and Santosh’s latest collaboration turns out to be just as successful as their previous ones.

So, which is your Mani Ratnam film? Comments, please!
