Actress Mehreen Pirzada—who is going through a terrific phase on the professional front—will soon be making her debut in Tamil cinema with ‘Nenjil Thunivirunthal’. And, as expected, she is quite excited about adding a new dimension to her career. During a recent chat with a leading website, she opened up about her character in the film and said that fans will be able to connect with it.
“I believe audiences connect with you by the characters you play; they remember you by your characters. In Telugu, audiences still see me as the rebellious girl Mahalakshmi from Krishna Gaadi Veeram Prema Gadha. Although I had equally good roles in Mahanubhavudu and Raja The Great, the Mahalakshmi character was very special and that’s why people still remember it. In Nenjil…I play a character called Janani, who is equivalent to two Mahalakshmis. Even though it’s a brief role, it will be remembered,” she added.
Interestingly, Mehreen has slowly but surely picked up Telugu. However, she was not able to get a hang of Tamil while shooting for ‘Nenjil Thunivirunthal’. Explaining the reason for this, she said that she just shot for a few days and hence did not get a chance to learn Tamil.
“For Nenjil Thunivirundhal, I hardly shot for ten days. Thanks to Suseenthiran sir, I can manage Tamil but wish I had gotten more time to learn the language. I have signed another film with him and I’m sure I’ll pick up Tamil before I start shooting for that project,” she added.
Well, we wish her the very best for ‘Nenjil Thunivirundhal’ and hope that she does justice to her role. If all goes as planned, the film will hit screens next week.
