‘Mersal’ will release on Diwali despite no outcome from talks between Tamil producers and government regarding taxes

Vijay starrer ‘Mersal’ is slated to be released on October 18th, 2017 and the promotions for the film are in full swing. Producers, Sir Thenandal Films, are going all out to make sure that film gets the right promotions and making sure that the advertisements are on a large scale. Even though no trailer of ‘Mersal’ is being released, the teasers from the film will continue till the release of the film. The only hindrance that fans fear that ‘Mersal’ will face will be the ongoing tussle between the Tamil producers and government regarding the taxes levied on film circles. Talks between the Producers’ Council and local government bodies have started already but the outcome seems to be nothing at this point in time.

Hema Rukmani, CEO of Sri Thenandal Films, is sure that there will be a positive outcome from the meetings scheduled later in the week and has confirmed that ‘Mersal’ will hit the screens on October 18th, 2017 as planned. The producers seem to be confident that the meetings will end on a positive note and the film will release as planned.

Directed by Atlee, ‘Mersal’ will have Thalapathy Vijay playing triple roles for the first time in his career, much to the joy of his fans. The story of ‘Mersal’ is co-written by Baahubali director K.V.Vijayendra Prasad which has added to the excitement around the film. ‘Mersal’ stars Samantha Ruth Prabhu, Kajal Aggarwal and Nithya Menen as the leading ladies. SJ Suryah will be seen playing the antagonist in the film.
