Me Too movement has taken the country by storm with more and more women coming out to share their horrifying stories. The movement started after actress Tanushree Dutta revisited a 10-year-old incident where she accused Nana Patekar of sexual harassment. Since then many women have come out to share their me too movement. In the Tamil film industry, Susi Ganesan, Vaiaramuthu and TM Karthik have been accused of sexual harassment. Tamil writer, filmmaker and poet, Leena Manimekalai recently opened up about her accusations against film director Susi Ganesan.
The Tamil writer revealed that how Ganesan wants to threaten her and family in order to shut down with all the power he has. In an interview with ZoomTV, Leena shared, “He commits more crime to hide his offence. He wants to threaten me, my family and my supporters with his lies, slander and police case so that he can stop more women coming forward. He wants to shut me down with all the power he has. But it is going to be tough for him. Instead, he should try and speak to his own conscience.”
Leena had spoken about the incident last year, which she reshared it again this year. Check out the post below:
I am gathering courage to write more of my experiences. Let me start with this. The film director who locked me up in…
Leena also spoke about how the director tried to threaten actor Siddharth as well when he stood up for her on social media. Reacting to the same, Leena said, “I am really sorry for what happened to Siddharth and his family. It takes some arrogance for Susi Ganesan to do this.”
Further adding, “His refutals are only exposing his very own character and what sort of a monster he is. He is definitely scared of his own doings and wants to create a climate of fear to guard himself from more naming and voices. I thank Sidharth to be the only sane lone voice of support to the whole MeToo movement and me. It means a lot.”
Recently, Siddharth who has been actively speaking up in Support of Me Too Movement was recently threatened after he tweeted for Leena.
#SusiGanesan spoke to my aged father on the phone and threatened us with dire consequences if I continue to stand by Leena. So I just want everyone to know that now more than ever… I Stand With #LeenaManimekalai. Stay strong and fight the good fight sister! #MeToo #TimesUp https://t.co/aMNfxXm46M
