Actor Suriya Sivakumar is currently shooting for his upcoming film NGK which is being directed by Selvaraghavan. The two are teaming up for the first time which has created an excitement around the film. Suriya will next team up with director KV Anand with who he has worked with in the past on films like Ayan and Maattraan. The film was officially announced few months ago and will go on floors from June this year, reports reveal. And according to latest reports, the makers might have pulled off the biggest casting coups in Tamil cinema with Suriya 37, as it is being referred to. Malayalam top star Mohanlal has been signed on for this film and will be seen playing an important role in the film. Director KV Anand took to Twitter and confirmed this development. “We are very much Honoured to have my lovely Hero @Mohanlal and Charming @Suriya_offl together in our next film. @LycaProductions” wrote KV Anand also confirming the film will be produced by Lyca Productions.

“The team felt that Suriya and Mohanlal will be an interesting combination, and approached the actor. Fans of both these stars can expect a lot of scenes where the two will share screen space. Suriya will be playing a character who is protecting something,” Times of India quoted a source. The music of the film will be composed by Harris Jayaraj who has rendered tunes to KV Anand’s previous films too.
It was earlier being reported that Bollywood Shahenshah Amitabh Bachchan would be roped in for an important role in the film. However, nothing developed much on that front. And it is implying that Mohanlal’s signing on could be the role that the makers may have offered to Amitabh Bachchan. The makers are yet to reveal the complete cast and crew of the film.
