Choreographer-turned-director Lawrence just had a release in Motta Shiva Ketta Shiva which was a successful outing for the ace dancer. The film did ok at the box office and the audience response was average. The remake of Telugu hit film Pataas, the film released worldwide with lofty expectations. It might not have fared as per the expectations of the makers but did average at the box office. Lawrence is now getting ready for the release of Shivalinga, a horror genre, which is directed by P. Vasu who delivered hit flicks like Chandramukhi in the past. The film also features Ritika Singh who has having a wonderful time in her career.
Shivalinga is also a remake of Kannada hit film with the same title, Shivalinga which featured Shiva Rajkumar and Vedhika in the lead roles. The original film was a super hit and tumbled plenty of records at the box office. Initially, director P. Vasu wanted to remake this horror thriller with Super Star Rajinikanth but could not bring him on-board because of the star’s prior commitments. An interesting aspect of the film is that Vasu’s son Shakthi played a role in the original version and is reprising the role in Tamil version too. The climax of the film is an adaptation of a book written by Agatha Christie.
The music of Shivalinga is rendered by Thaman SS and the camera work is handled by Sarvesh Murari who earlier worked on Motta Shiva Ketta Shiva. The project is being produced by R. Ravindran. Hope Lawrence continues his success streak with Shivalinga too.
