Music composer AR Rahman recently donated one crore to the relief fund in Kerala. AR Rahman took to Twitter to announce about the same. The Oscar-winning music composer on Sunday at a concert in the USA pledged that he and his team of artists have donated the money to the Kerala Chief Minister’s Distress Relief Fund (CMDRF). Around 483 people have died in Kerala floods. He tweeted, “From my artistes and me touring the USA… To our brothers and sisters of Kerala! May this small offering help in providing you some relief!”

AR Rahman is currently on a live concert tour in the USA and this announcement was made after his show in Washington. Reportedly, he will return to India on September 5 and will gear up with the promotions of Mani Ratnam’s Chekka Chivantha Vaanam. Rahman is expected to sing live at the audio launch of the film. More details about the same are awaited.

During one of the concerts, the music composer sang a few lines for the people who have suffered due to floods. The crowd was all enjoying the live concert and towards the end, he changed the lyrics to from “Mustafa” to “Kerala, Kerala, don’t worry Kerala.”

Talking about Kerala floods, Bollywood actors Shah Rukh Khan, Amitabh Bachchan and many others have come out to help flood-hit Kerala. South celebs Dulquer Salmaan, Vijay Sethupathi, Sidharth, Dhanush, Kamal Haasan among others have donated money to help the victim of Kerala floods.

Allu Arjun has donated Rs 25 lakh, Kamal Haasan Rs 25 lakh, Mammootty and Dulquer Salmaan Rs 25 lakh, Anupama Parameshwaran Rs 1 lakh, Vijay Sethupathi Rs 25 lakh, Siddharth Rs 10 lakh, Dhanush Rs 15 lakh, Sivakarthikeyan Rs 10 lakh, Nayanthara Rs 10 lakh, Vishal Rs 10 lakh, Chiyaan Vikram Rs 35 lakhs, Vijay Devarakonda Rs 5 lakh among others have helped their bit.
