Jyothika is arguably one of the most talented stars in the Tamil film industry today. And, last year, she gave strong proof of her abilities as a performer when Magalir Mattum opened to a good response at the box office while receiving positive reviews. A Bramma directorial, it featured her in the role of an independent lady and did clicked because of its relatable presentation. Now, with 2017 in the rear-view, Jyo has started off 2018 in the best way possible.
Her Naachiyaar hit screens today. And, not surprisingly, it seems to have clicked with moviegoers in a big way. Most people are of the opinion that it is well-made dark drama that works because of its crisp presentation and intense performances. They have also given the thumbs up to its flawless editing.

#Naachiyaar – Simple plot, gud background music & superb perf from Jo & Ivana. GVP has tried to giv his best. Film duration is just 99 mins. 1st half Luv portions r dull, picks up during interval, with gud 2nd hlf. Its neither a hard hitting typical Bala film nor a commercial 1.

#Naachiyaar: While #Jyothika is apt in the role of a stiff but still caring cop, @gvprakash surprises one and all with his best performance yet. In a totally new getup, he shines in both the emotional and the comic sequences along with the impressive newcomer Ivana.

In case you did not know, Naachiyaar is a Bala directorial and features Jyothika in the role of a deadly cop. Her intense body language was arguably one of the biggest highlights of the trailer. Besides her, it also features actor GV Prakash in the lead. Sometime ago, he had said that working with the likes Jyo and Bala was a good experience for her.
“With Bala sir, there’s toughness in each scene you perform. You can’t go just act and come out. He puts in a lot of effort to elevate a particular sequence. He is a master of creating characters that are close to reality, and the impact is such that the characters would stay with the audiences. She is a very positive person. A wonderful and the best co-star! She has no airs around her, and if you perform well, she would come and appreciate your work instantly,” he had told a leading daily.
With Naachiyaar in theatres, GV Prrakash will turn his attention to 100 Percent Kadhal. As far as Jyothika is concerned, she will next be seen in Mani Ratnam’s Chekka Chivantha Vaanam.
