Nayanthara to star opposite Kamal Haasan in Indian 2?

There can be no denying that 2017 was a terrific year for Nayanthara. In November, she received rave reviews for her performance in the social drama ‘Aramm’ and gave strong proof of her abilities as an actress. The film featured her in the role of an IAS officer and did well at the box office while garnering praise from all corners. Thereafter, she delivered an equally powerful performance in ‘Velaikkaran’ and gave her well-wishers a reason to rejoice. To make things better, she started off 2018 on an equally good note as ‘Jai Simha’ opened to a good response at the box office despite receiving mixed reviews. Now, it seems, Nayan has bagged another big project and made the year even more special for her well-wishers.

According to reports, Kollywood’s much-loved ‘Lady Superstar’ could soon be roped in to star opposite Kamal Haasan in ‘Indian 2’. As per sources, she will be seen essaying the role of a revolutionary in the film. Well, it goes without saying that Nayan-Kamal would indeed make a solid pair on the big screen and add a new dimension to the film.

In case you did not know, ‘Indian 2’ is a sequel to the 1996 release ‘Indian’ and is being directed by S Shankar.  The first part revolved around a vigilante who decides to punish the corrupt by killing them in the most brutal way possible. And, not surprisingly. It did well at the box office while receiving critical acclaim along the way. It will be worth watching if the sequel does justice to the high standards set by the original version.

On a related note, this is a busy time for Kamal as well as Nayanthara. Besides ‘Indian 2’  the ‘Ulaga Nayagan’ also has ‘Sabaash Naidu’ and ‘Vishwaroopam 2’ in his kitty. Similarly, Nayan too has several films in her kitty including ‘Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy’.
