There can be no denying that 2017 was a good year for the lovely Nayanthara. In November, ‘Thalaivi’ gave strong proof of her abilities as a performer when ‘Aramm’ opened to a decent response at the box office and received rave reviews along the way. In it, she played the role of a collector and delivered one solid performance. Praising the film Amala Paul had said that it proved how good cinema matters.
“Hence proved, good cinema matters, kudos to #Nayanthara and director #GopiNainar , in an industry which is plagued with masala movies scripted for star heroes, #Aramm has proved the formula to be wrong. Good cinema matters, good story matters, good performances matter!” she had added.
Just a month after that, she livered an equally commendable performance in ‘Velaikkaran’. An action-thriller, it was directed by Mohan Raja and saw her star opposite Sivakarthikeyan. Talking about her role in the film, the director had said that it would do full justice to her superstar image.
“I think an artiste should get into the skin of the character he/she is playing and Nayanthara does it brilliantly. She attends workshops for her films and I am not sure how many others do it. Her experience shows in every scene she performs and our challenge now is to make this film bigger and better than Thani Oruvan. I’ve to do justice to her image,” he had told a leading daily.
Similarly, SK too had praised her and said that her search for perfection is what makes her a bankable name.
“The one thing that hasn’t changed at all in all these three film shooting spots, is her punctuality and perfection. That is why, I feel, that she has established a market for herself,” he added.
Now, Nayan is in the limelight again and that too for an awesome reason. Yesterday, on the first day of 2018, she wrote a letter to her fans and thanked her fans for making ‘Aramm’ a hit. She also promised her fans that she would continue doing responsible films in the days to come.
“For all the love and support you have shown towards me, all I can do is work harder and be responsible to not only give you entertaining movies but also responsible films like Aramm. I sincerely thank the print, television, social media, cinema personalities, reviewers & trackers for making Aramm what it is today. This has been a wonderful year with full of love and positivity. Thank you all for making it possible for me again and again,” she added.
Nayan also said that her fans have made her realise that one must always work hard and leave the rest to the almighty.
“You have made me feel blessed! You have made me believe that sincere and unconditional love exists. Your love towards me has proved time and again that life is beautiful. You all have made me realise that no matter what, we should just keep working harder with utmost dedication and leave the rest to God…!” she wrote.
Well, we wish Nayanthara a Happy New Year and hope that 2018 turns out to be a good year for her.
On a related note, Nayan will soon be seen in the action-drama ‘Jai Simha’ which also has NBK in the lead. Balakrishna and Nayan have previously worked together in films like ‘Simha’ and ‘Sree Rama Rajyam’. As such, fans are bound to have high hopes from ‘Jai Simha’.
Besides ‘Jai Simha’, she also has ‘Imaikka Nodigal’ in her kitty. It is a thriller and also has Anurag Kashyap in a key role. Talking about the decision to cast him, directed Ajay Gananamuthu had said that he is the perfect choice for his role.
“I saw Anurag’s rare combination of subtlety, intensity and unpredictability which is what I needed. Rudra holds the story together. If I couldn’t cast Anurag, I felt my film wouldn’t be complete. The characteristics Anurag displayed were in sync with what I had written. He evokes such fear with his subtle and sheer villainy, making him the perfect choice,” he had told a leading website.
