It’s not an easy task to portray the role of a sex-worker onscreen and more so if you just had a release alongside a Super Star. Actress Dhansika, who played the role of Rajinikanth’s daughter in Kabali, has agreed to play the role of a sex-worker in a short film titled Sinam. The director of the film Anand Murthy is all praise for the actress.
The film will be a multilingual one and required Dhansika to enact few bold scenes one of them being smoking. Speaking to leading daily director of Sinam Anand Murthy said, “It’s easily her boldest role yet. When most male stars have stopped or having second thoughts about smoking on screen, Dhanshika took up this role with the right attitude. She had no qualms about smoking for the sake of her character.” The story of the film is set in the backdrop of Kolkata and also features Bidita Bag in a key role. “Bidita plays a documentary filmmaker. The story is about these two characters and what happens when they cross paths. It will be a powerful story and the film will feature dialogues in Tamil as well as Bengali,” added the director. The film has few big names from Tamil industry attached to with GV Prakash composing the music for the film. The film has dialogues in Bengali and Tamil since the story is set in Kolkata.
One the feature film front, Dhansika’s upcoming film is supposedly Vizhithiru which was started in 2012 but was delayed because of numerous reasons. She also has Kaathadi in the pipeline which also features prominent actors Sampath Raj and Kota Srinivas Rao in important roles.
