The much-loved Vishal is arguably one of the most talented stars in the Tamil film industry. And, these days, he has been in the limelight because of his political ambitions. Yesterday, the actor filed his nomination for the RK Nagar bypoll and gave his fans a reason to rejoice. However, his nomination was rejected by the Election Commission on two occasions much to his disappointment. After receiving this jolt, Vishal rued the ‘death of democracy’ and said this was a case of ‘democracy at its lowest’. Speaking about his future course of action, the ‘Poojai’ star said that he will now support an independent candidate and make him win. He also said that his proposers were kidnapped/threatened.
I will not leave this here. I will choose a youngster who has been nominated as an independent candidate. Will try my best to support him and make him win to serve the people of RK Nagar,” added the star.
Well, this is a developing situation and it will be worth watching what happens next. In case you did not know, the RK Nagar seat has been vacant since former CM Jayalalitha’s death last December. The bypoll is to be held later this month and Vishal would have contested it as an independent candidate.
On the work front, this is a good time for Vishal. He was last seen in ‘Villain’ which marked his Mollywood debut and also had Mohanlal in the lead. At present, he has ‘Sandakozhi 2’ and ‘Irumbu Thirai’ in his kitty.
