2017 was a year to remember after a slew of films with offbeat subjects and new talents hit the marquee in South Indian cinema. Arjun Reddy and Aruvi were two films in 2017 that stole the limelight with their realistic subjects and mind-blowing performances. While Arjun Reddy actor Vijay Deverakonda has signed quite a few films and will soon make his debut in Tamil cinema, Aditi Balan of Aruvi fame is in no rush to move ahead. Aditi Balan is a lawyer by profession and turned to acting only because of her passion towards the art-form. Aditi Balan drew many appreciations and accolades from all quarters of South Indian cinema and is now the most talked about actor. But Aditi says she is in no rush to sign a film since her intent is to do films which are inspiring. Post Aruvi, Aditi Balan, says, was flooded with numerous offers in Tamil but the actress wasn’t impressed with any of those.
“I am looking for scripts where I have a scope to prove my talents and also something which is challenging. But, what I was getting was uninspiring. That’s the reason I have not signed my second film. Anyways, I am not in a hurry,” Aditi Balan was quoted as saying by Deccan Chronicle. Aditi also adds that she is fine with working in films with big heroes contrary to what people;s perception that she would choose only female-centric subjects. “I never said anything anywhere like this. I am not averse to act in films with big heroes provided my role is meaty and not clichéd stuff,” Aditi Balan added further.
Aruvi was a socio-political drama written and directed by Arun Prabu Purushothaman and portrayed the events that occur in the life of Aruvi, played by Aditi Balan. Aruvi was produced by S.R.Prabhu under the banner Dream Warriors Pictures.
