According to reports, Dhanush was shooting for a fight sequence with the film’s antagonist Tovino Thomas, and got injured while performing a stunt sequence. Directed by Balaji Mohan, Maari 2 is the sequel to the hit film, which released in 2015.

Maari 2 is the sequel to the 2015 release Maari which had Dhanush and Kajal Aggarwal playing the lead roles. The film was a hit flick in Dhanush’s career and the actor was seen playing a local goon with a handle-bar moustache. Maari 2 will be a bilingual and will be shot simultaneously in Tamil and Telugu. However, it I not clear yet if the Telugu version will have the same cast or if any changes would be made. Maari 2 is expected to be released during the end of 2018.

Maari 2 will also star Varalaxmi Sarathkumar too in a crucial role and will be her first time collaboration with Dhanush in a film.

Dhanush also has couple of other films – Vada Chennai and Ennai Nokki Paayum Thota – which are in the pipeline and this injury scare might worry the makers of these films.
