The film is said to be a silent thriller and will hardly any dialogues, making one of the most unique films in South Indian cinema. Mercury has no dialogues and hence, this is something the audience will see Prabhudheva doing for the first time.
In an EXCLUSIVE interview with Pinkvilla, we asked Karthik Subbaraj why did he cast Prabhudheva in the lead role, he said, “This character is sort of unique. I didn’t have anybody in mind while writing it. But I needed someone whose casting itself sounds unique and that’s when I thought why not cast Prabhudheva sir because he has not done anything this sort before.”
When asked what are the things he took care of while shooting for this film which has no dialogues, he answered, “This film is a thriller genre with no dialogues. There are some challenges that need to be corrected; the performance and the technicality need to be taken care of, like the visuals, sound, the music, and editing. And obviously, the first thing that comes is performance. All the actors including Prabhudheva sir have done great performances.”
