Kalidas Jayaram and Megha Akash starrer ‘Oru Pakka Kathai’ was facing censor issues despite getting a U certificate from the board. Directed by Balaji Tharaneetharan, Oru Pakka Kathai had the word ‘intercourse’ in one of its dialogues to which the censor board was opposing even after giving it a U certificate. However, after the Central Censor Board witnessed some changes in it personnel, the local board has given its go ahead for the word to be used in the dialogue.
“Two weeks ago, we got a call from the censor board saying that our film will be cleared. And on Tuesday night, we were given the U certificate. They have not asked us to mute or replace the word intercourse,” a report in TOI quoted director Balaji Tharaneetharan.
According to reports, the local censor board officials said that they will have to consult the Mumbai office regarding this which only happened recently after Prasoon Joshi took over from Pahlaj Nihalani as Censor Board chief.

Director Balaji feels that the change in thought probably came after the change in personnel in the central board. “Perhaps this has got to do with the replacement of the old chief and the views of the present chief,” Balaji added further.
The shooting of Oru Pakka Kathai started in December 2014 but the release has been getting delayed for numerous one of which is the clearance from censor board, which has now given its go ahead. Besides Kalidas Jayaram and Megha Akash, Oru Pakka Kathai also features PV Chandramoulli, Jeeva Ravi, Lakshmi Priya Menon and Meena.
