During a recent chat with a leading daily, Bollyewood star Akshay Kumar confirmed that his Hindi film ‘Padman’ will not clash at the box office with his maiden Tamil film ‘2.0’ on Republic Day 2018. He went on to add that if makers of ‘2.0’ decide to release it over the R-Day weekend, he will postpone ‘Padman’ as a clash between the two will not benefit him in any way.

“There is a lot of false information that is being circulated over both films releasing on the same day. Why would I clash with my own film? It will either be 2.0 or Padman. While Padman is a film that I have produced, 2.0 belongs to Shankar Rajinikanth and Lyca productions. They will decide if they want to release the film on Republic Day. If they do I will postpone Padman and if they don’t, I will go ahead,” said Akshay.

Well, this is good news and is bound to create a buzz amongst fans. In case you did not know, ‘2.0’ is touted to be a sci-fi thriller and is a sequel to the 2010 blockbuster ‘Enthiran’. In it, Rajinikanth will be playing the chitti character from the first part while Akki will be essaying the terrifying antagonist, Dr Richard. As far as ‘Padman’ is concerned, it is a comedy-drama and has been produced by Akki himself. In it, the ‘Khiladi’ will be seen alongside Sonam Kapoor and Radhika Apte.

So, are you looking forward to these films? Tell us in the space below.
