Rajinikanth starrer Petta is one of the much-awaited films of 2019. The makers have already begun with the promotions. On Rajinikanth’s 68th birthday, the makers of Petta released a new teaser of the film and it is sure to make your day. The quirky and colorful teaser sees Rajinikanth making a very unique entry that will make you whistle immediately. The teaser has taken social media by storm and fans can’t stop raving about superstar’s iconic entry.
Recently, during one of the promotional launches, Rajinikanth said, “Karthik Subbaraj has taken me back to the 1990s in Petta. He has extracted from me what I used to perform three to four decades ago. He has crafted every shot as a die-hard fan of me.”

He further added: “Karthik’s style of story-telling is very different. Petta is a beautiful film. It’d be a good entertainer for the Pongal festival. It’s an action-packed entertainer with a lot of fight sequences. When Karthik told me about roping in Anirudh Ravichander for music, I was the first one to feel happy. It was Dhanush who said to me that Anirudh would be the next AR Rahman in film music composing.”
In the film, Rajinikanth is rumoured to be playing a professor with a violent past. The shooting of the film has been majorly done in Darjeeling and Dehradun. The film marks the Tamil debut of Nawazuddin Siddiqui, and Vijay Sethupathi apparently plays the antagonist.
